Another review of the Oticon LE Audio Adapter
17 June 2025
“I wanted to try out the Oticon Easy LE Adapter on my work-provided IT equipment to allow me to use my hearing aids with Microsoft Teams meetings, saving me from putting headphones over the top of the hearing aids
My work provided equipment consists of a HP ZBook Fury G9 laptop, connected to a HP docking station and a couple of screens. I also have a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
I found the pairing process of the adapter and Oticon Intent 4 hearing aids to be simple and straight forward. I did have to watch a YouTube video as the instructions included are tiny – too small for my eyes anyway.
I connected the adapter to my laptop’s docking station, placed my hearing aids in the charger to power them off and took them out again to allow the pairing to take place. My laptop picked them up straight away and were connected and showing in my computer’s audio setting and also within the settings of Teams. A quick test call was made to confirm they were working as intended, which happily they were.
One area of disappointment is the fact I cannot leave the adapter plugged in. As you can only have one device connected to your hearing aids at the same time, if I want to stream from my mobile phone or make /receive phone calls, I have to remove the adapter. Once removed, mobile streaming and calls picks up automatically. Likewise, it also automatically reconnects the computer again when the adapter is reconnected. It would be perfect if you could leave the adapter plugged in full-time but have the ability to disable it in the Oticon Companion app when not required.
I have not had use of the passthrough charging feature as yet. I did try connecting my iPad but it wouldn’t charge. I assume this is more down to Apple and not enough power going through the adapter to be detected.
All in all, quite happy with the adapter, albeit a couple of niggles that may hopefully in the future be incorporated into the Oticon app."

Gavin Austin
